Nomads News Brief

1 Mar 19

Hello Nomads!

Just a quick news brief to update you on the goings on of your Executive. As many of you know, I have taken over as President from Lorna, who will still be on the Executive as Trail Director along with her husband Bob

I would like to welcome Joanne Bertrand to the Executive. She is looking after our presence on Social Media (The Nomads Facebook Page and the National Capital Meetup page).

As well, our AGM will be held on Monday 6 May 19 at the Legion in Bells Corners. More information to follow.

The Volunteer Book will be at our next Event walk on 16 Mar 19 at Ben Franklin Place and will of course be at the AGM. Please sign up to help out with pre-walking the trails or sitting at the desk. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our club and we need all of you!

Walking Weekend Trip

After a couple of “no go” bus trips, the Executive decided that it was time to take a break from all the work involved in such a trip. Thank you, Busman Bob for all your hard work and dedication over the last several years – now you can relax and hang up your hat.

The weekend of September 20 - 22 has been reserved for a trip, so we shall be planning another mini bus trip similar to last year when 10 of us had a good time. I have a few ideas in mind for walks, while trying to keep the distance between walks to less than 2 hours.

We have plenty of time to finalize details such as: shall each couple drive themselves, offer a lift to others, or should we look to rent a couple of mini vans which I think seat around 7, and then share that cost.

No pressure as Bob and I will go away that weekend anyway to do some walks.

Email Lorna at sassyg@rogers.com with your ideas and comments.

Until next time!

Mich Bell (Nepean Nomads President)
